Simon Audio expands

While all the attention was focused on the opening of new hi-fi outlets at Jaya One in Petaling Jaya in May, there was a new development in Amcorp Mall, the 'original' centre of hi-fi in Malaysia.
No, it wasn't the opening of a new outlet. It was an 'old' outlet shifting to another shoplot on the same floor.
Simon Audio opened at Lot 242 on the 2nd floor and it can be seen from the front of Asia Sound a floor below.
Owner Simon Liew said he will be keeping the former outlet at Lot 219, a few shoplots away.
"I plan to sell hi-fi racks sourced from China in that shoplot. The racks should be here by August," he said.
Simon Audio sells mostly made-in-China components and some of the brands available there are Shan Ling CD players and amps; Mei Xing CD players and valve amps; and Be One Audio speakers and amps.

The star component in the outlet is the Amari turntable which comes with the Rega RB250 tonearm. Simon is pricing it at RM2,500 with an Audio Technica MM cartridge thrown in. The Amari turntable has received good reviews and a lot of audiophiles are curious to find out how good it is.
